Australia tries 'Wooing' back students

A welcome desk has been established for Indian and other international students at the airport at Melbourne airport as declared by Australian government official.

Victorian Minister for Skills and Workforce Participation Bronwyn Pike said that students will receive a warm welcome at the International Student Welcome Desk located in the arrivals hall at Melbourne International Airport.

"A team of local volunteers will now be at the desk during peak arrival times to hand out welcome packs to international students arriving inMelbourne, with information on living, working and studying in Victoria."

"Information and advice about housing and consumer rights will also be provided to international students upon their arrival at Melbourne airport," a statement quoted Pike as saying.

Australia is trying to woo international students after its image was battered following a string of attacks on Indian students in Melbourne and Sydney. The assaults have already strained relations between New Delhi and Canberra.

Pike said the government will provide an Aus $2.7 million support and information package over four years for international students as part of the Aus$14 million 'Thinking Global: Victoria's Action Plan for International Education'.

The airport welcome desk is open during a four-week period when most international students arrive in Victoria to prepare for the start of the education year.

USA’s Education System -A 'Fascination' or an 'Apparent' reality.

So pals, I am back with this topic which I always have thought of presenting on the blog but took a little time to think about it’s pros and cons.
Quota system for education had been introduced in Asian countries long ago under the flagship banner of ‘privilege’ for backward castes as according to the theory propounded by great politicians and their political gimmicks. That is a different thing that nobody took care in order to improve their standards of living and providing them suitable means for absorbing education. Some students score excellent marks but are still denied admissions just because they belong to general stream and their so called quota is finished , of course granted to other people whether they are having the required standard of grades or not. YOU MUST BE THINKING WHY I AM TALKING ALL ABOUT THIS SUDDENLY.

HERE’S THE ANSWER

Why a student prefers to go abroad and study there ? .Again comes the factor of capitalism .As you tread the path of profession as will be your rewards. This is how the USA economy has boomed and even we can take the economies of Dubai. Sometimes it is SHOCKING to note that Indian fiscal budget is sometimes chased narrowly by a small country’s budget like Singapore which is just a tiny island or even TAIWAN.
There it’s an open arena where a man strives by his own intelligence and reap rewards. This how should be and USA is a pioneer of this system .That leads to talents all across the globe to get concentrated there by the centrifugal forces of capitalism. There has been a considerable rise in students going to USA in the last few years even during recession .Various education policies are introduced there providing the talented students various facilities who are poised enough to succeed. You can refer to the article” Indian students remain spellbound with the USA” published in this blog in December, 2009.
So what’s your decision ?
I presented a scenario which is evident in today’s world about USA and Asian countries, perhaps you can say that if something happens then ,it certainly has a reason behind it and consequences which follow it.
